Accounts

The Accounts section provides access to all information related to your client accounts: client and patient files, medical history, invoices, estimates, medical notes, and transaction history.

 

  Desktop

The Desktop is the command center of your hospital, providing access to the patient files required by your staff for that day.  Staff members and medical activities can be assigned to patients and managed efficiently.  Files are labeled with desired completion times, reason for visit, color-coded tasks, and a real time 'In Use' status to indicate when a file is being edited and by whom.

   
  Medical History
Patient medical history can be viewed by individual office visit, enabling you to quickly scan all reasons for visit to drill down on a specific case.  The Preview Pane improves readability by automatically displaying pertinent medical information.  SOAP notes, images, video, services, drug labels, lab graphs, and vaccine information are previewed as you scroll, eliminating unnecessary clicks to see attachments.  History can be filtered, for instance, to compare lab results from several visits at once.

   
 SOAP Medical Notes

Create detailed Problem Oriented Medical Records (POMR).  Using VIA's SOAP (Subjective Objective Assessment Plan) notes, you can document every action that occurs during a patients visit, from the initial client communications to your final diagnoses and plan, as well as store vitals, physical exams, invoiced charges, digital images, sound, and video. 

Eliminate double entry by sending your Plan charges directly to the invoice.  Accepted and declined services are automatically recorded.  Laboratory tests, vaccinations, drug labels, recalls, and client education documents can also be generated from the SOAP note.

Up until now, this type of detailed information took valuable time to record either in handwritten notes or on a computer.  VIA streamlines that process by allowing you to define key phrases, abnormalities, and examination parameters, so you can generate precise, thorough medical notes with only a few clicks of the mouse.

   
 Integrated Laboratory Results
Manage your laboratory results easily with VIA.  Lab test results from in-house equipment and the Web can be downloaded directly to a patient's medical file.  The VIA Import Manager shows new results for all patients in one convenient area for quick review and signoff by attending veterinarians, eliminating time consuming and error-prone manual data entry.

Test result information is shown in an easy to read graphical scale with color coded High/Low information.  Lab results can be trend charted over a patients lifetime to identify and monitor areas of concern.

 DICOM Communications and Imaging
VIA provides an industry first DICOM compliant solution that integrates billing, modality worklist request, PACS querying, and image viewing, all from within your practice management system.  VIA's DICOM Communication and Imaging module allows for seamless integration with Digital Radiography, Computed Radiography, Ultrasound, MRI, and other imaging modalities and PACS (picture archiving and communications) systems.

Generate image study requests and review completed studies.  Access high resolution DICOM images directly from a patient's medical history.  Use VIA's image enhancement tools to view both bone and soft tissue from a single image.  View images from any workstation in your hospital.  Compare and contrast historical cases by querying the PACS archive.  Electronically transfer your images for consultation with a specialist or colleague.

Armed with this level of integration, you'll save time, eliminate misplaced x-rays, minimize missed radiograph charges, and improve patient care.

   
 Imaging and Video Acquisition
Capturing images and video is a one-click process with VIA.  VIA directly communicates with standard digital cameras and video equipment, as well as ultrasound, endoscope, laparoscope, and digitized x-ray.  All images are stored in the patient's medical history and can be printed on invoices, reminders, certificates, report cards, and telemedicine documents.  And since they are stored in the database, you can use the Data Mining tool to search for related images (for example, show endoscopic images for all feline otitis media cases over the age of 6).
   
 Tablet PC Convenience
Imagine being able to enter handwritten notes and annotate images in the exam room to better communicate with your clients and staff.  VIA's Tablet PC templates preload patient and medical pictures, client and patient demographic information, and hospital logo, while providing areas to enter handwritten notes and drawings.  Annotated notes, digital pictures and client consent signatures can be printed and permanently stored in the patients medical file.  Learn more about the VIA Tablet PC here.
   
 Easy Invoicing

Create invoices quickly by using drop down lists and description searches, similiar to QuickBooks™ accounting software.  Dual mode invoicing enables you to edit the same invoice from both the standard invoice screen (which most front desk staff prefer), or from the patient's medical history (which most doctors prefer).  Price breaks, promotional discounts, fees, take home instructions, Rx labels, vaccination certificates, treatment reminders, callbacks, medical history, inventory quantities, and controlled substance logbooks are accurately updated with each invoice you generate.

   
 Estimates
VIA lets you create estimates for your clients, containing high and low price ranges.  When converting the estimate to an invoice VIA automatically reuses all the relevant client and financial information so you don't have to retype it.  Simply choose to preload using the high or low values and continue invoicing.
   
 Treatment Reminders
Generate professional reminder notices for your clientele.  VIA automatically creates treatment reminders throughout each patient’s life cycle.  The reminder wizard walks you through printing reminders, allowing you to target specific patients or treatments.  Choose among several printout templates ranging from postcards to full page letters, each containing the patient’s picture to ensure your reminder gets noticed.
   
 Educational Handouts
Educate your clients to improve patient care and reinforce the value of your services with VIA’s client educational materials.  You can customize handouts to convey your message more effectively, as well as tailor the system to print specific documents when services are rendered. 
   
 Lifelearn Client Education Materials
You can further enhance your system with our integrated LifeLearn™ Client Education articles.  Over 900 articles covering Canine, Feline, Exotics and Pet Birds, Equine, Pharmacy, Behavior, Diagnostics, Supplements, and Oncology topics have been converted for seamless integration with VIA to include your hospital logo, client and patient information, and patient picture.
