Here is a brief overview of some of the latest additions:
| VIA Safe |
|
VIA Safe is the automated online backup service by Eklin that creates a secure, off-site backup of your VIA Practice Management System every day. VIA Safe utilizes your internet connection to automatically send a backup of your hospital data to a secure, off-site data center. VIA Safe creates an encrypted, incremental backup of your data every day and runs completely unattended. You will receive email notifications from VIA Safe to inform you when a backup has occurred or if a problem was encountered. In the event that you need to recover a backup, VIA will provide the appropriate data to your practice.
VIA Safe online backup and recovery solutions provide the peace of mind that your critical hospital information is safe and secure. |

| VIA DICOM Communications and Imaging |
|
The VIA DICOM Communications and Imaging module allows for seamless integration with Digital Radiography, Computed Radiography, Ultrasound, MRI, and other imaging modalities and PACS (picture archiving and communications) systems. VIA provides an industry first DICOM compliant solution that integrates billing, modality worklist request, PACS querying, and image viewing, all from within your practice management system. Generate image study requests and review completed studies. Access high resolution DICOM images directly from a patient's medical history. Use VIA's image enhancement tools to view both bone and soft tissue from a single image. View images from any workstation in your hospital. Compare and contrast historical cases by querying the PACS archive. Electronically transfer your images for consultation with a specialist or colleague. Armed with this level of integration, you'll save time, eliminate misplaced x-rays, minimize missed radiograph charges, and improve patient care.

| VIA Sync |
|
The new synchronization utility VIA Sync lets you view and enter information while disconnected from the hospital network. Imagine having access to all of your VIA data from a Tablet PC or laptop computer anywhere you go. While on the road you can generate invoices, enter SOAP notes, or edit records, and when you return to the hospital the changes you made are intelligently merged with the hospital database.
This powerful tool uses SQL Server merge replication techniques to monitor differential changes made to the information in your database. The differential monitoring technique dramatically reduces the amount of data that has to be transferred, allowing you to even synchronize remotely over a low bandwidth phone line.
VIA Sync simplifies synchronization down to a single button click process. Simply click the Disconnect button to operate in remote mode for use in the field, and click the Connect button when returning to your hospital. During the synchronization the latest information from the hospital database is updated to your remote computer, while information you entered on the remote computer is downloaded to the hospital. VIA Sync is ideal for ambulatory and field work, transferring data between satellite offices, or even for taking your laptop home at night to finish up your daily work.

SOAP Plan to Invoice |
|
Eliminate double entry by sending your SOAP Plan charges directly to an invoice. Accepted and declined services are automatically recorded. Laboratory tests, vaccinations, drug labels, recalls, and client education documents can all be generated from the SOAP note. You can even memorize a Plan for a specific reason for visit to minimize data entry and eliminate missed charges.

VIA now communicates with more laboratory equipment than ever before. Lab results from the following in-house equipment and the Web can be downloaded directly to a patient's medical file:

| Laboratory Trend Charting |
|
Identify and monitor areas of concern by trend charting a patient's laboratory results. The new laboratory summary view provides access to a patient's entire laboratory history so you can efficiently analyze information. Individual tests can be trend charted over a patient's lifetime, and the results can be given to a client as a valuable communications tool.

| Patient & Client Alerts |
| Alerts are a handy way to notify staff about important client or patient information. Enter patient alerts to indicate allergic reactions, aggressive behavior, special diets, or any information you wish. Client alerts can be used to monitor account balances, client types, and overdue payments. The alerts are accessible from several areas within VIA to ensure your staff stays informed. |
| Vitals Graphing |
| Patient vitals can be graphed over time. The vitals graph comes in handy whether you are showing a client their pet's weight gain or monitoring changes on a critical care patient. |
| Entity Tracking |
|
Assign referring doctor, referring hospital, trainer, farm/business, insurance company, and multiple owners to a patient. A history of each of these entities is recorded in the patient file to enable you to track changes over time. Emergency, referral, and diagnostic practices can generate referral letters from the medical note. |
| Lifelearn Oncology Series |
|
The Oncology series of the Lifelearn Client Education Materials has been integrated within VIA. The series consists of over 70 articles covering a variety of oncology topics. |
